In order to provide such an environment we hold the following elements as essential to the SIS experience.
The importance of each member of the school community is stressed to provide a strong sense of self. Classes are small so that individual attention can be given to each child’s needs. The school virtues of citizenship, respect, initiative, scholarship, perseverance, and compassion are taught and modeled so that interactions between students are based on these values.
The development of each child’s abilities to enable them to reach their fullest potential through a variety of activities. We offer a challenging curriculum that enables the students to grow intellectually in their understanding of the world around them. We also offer a wide variety of co-curricular activities to provide the opportunities for students to grow physically, emotionally and socially.
The belief that a close personal relationship between student and teacher is the key to learning. Our teachers are highly qualified educators dedicated to the school philosophy and mission. We stress the importance of providing each child interaction with highly trained, dedicated, empathetic teachers who have a deep understanding of student abilities and act as a experienced guides on the path of learning.
