"As I think about my relationship with SIS I realize it truly has been a great one. Eight years ago I came to SIS to begin a new life in an unfamiliar part of the world to teach fourth grade. Half way through every year I have always made my decision to come back for another year of teaching. SIS is a great institute, a great place to work and I look forward to a bright future."
David Steinberg , Elementary School Team Leader
Middle School: Grades 6-8
Curriculum is designed to prepare students for entry into an academically challenging high school. Courses include language arts, history, and science, geography, mathematics, modern languages, fine arts, Mandarin and PE.
“The small classes allow easy assessment of where my students are in their learning and for me to give them the personal attention they need to succeed. SIS has a student body that is motivated to succeed and will go the extra mile to do so. Parents of students also play a positive role in their success by continuing the support and positive reinforcement of getting a good education at home.”
Steven Beyer, Middle School Team Leader

"I’m in my tenth year as a high school teacher and college counselor at SIS. Whenever anyone asks me about the kids at SIS I tell them that they are, quite simply, the greatest bunch of teenagers ever assembled in one place at one time. I have never met a group of young people who are kinder, gentler, or more respectful than the wonderful teenagers at SIS. I’ve been truly blessed with the opportunity to teach here and to get to know some of the most amazing young people anywhere."
Keith Tessen, High School Team Leader
